This Privacy Policy explains how B-One Chiropractic collects, uses, and protects your personal information, including your health information, in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who We Are
B-One Chiropractic is operated by Ambrose Sung, a chiropractor registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC registration number: 05783) and a member of the United Chiropractic Association (UCA). Ambrose Sung is the data controller responsible for your personal information.

What Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
-
Contact details: name, address, phone number, email address
-
Health information: medical history, symptoms, examination findings, treatment notes, and progress records
-
Payment information: details needed to process payment, including insurance information if you're claiming through Medicash
-
Booking information: appointment dates, attendance history
Health information is classed as "special category data" under UK GDPR, meaning it requires extra care and a specific legal basis to process, which we explain below.
How We Collect It
Most of your information is collected directly from you, during your initial consultation, on any forms you complete, or when you book an appointment. If you're referred by another healthcare professional, we may also receive relevant information from them, with your knowledge.
Why We Use Your Information and Our Legal Basis
We use your information to:
-
Assess your condition and provide safe, appropriate chiropractic treatment
-
Maintain accurate clinical records, as required by our professional obligations
-
Contact you about appointments, including reminders and rescheduling
-
Process payments and, where relevant, provide invoices for insurance claims
-
Meet our legal and regulatory obligations as a registered healthcare provider
Our legal basis for processing your health information is that it's necessary for the provision of health care by a registered health professional, who is subject to a duty of confidentiality (UK GDPR Article 9(2)(h)). For other personal information, our legal basis is that processing is necessary to provide the service you've asked for, and to meet our legal obligations.
Who We Share Your Information With
We do not sell or share your information for marketing purposes. We may share limited information with:
-
Insurance providers, such as Medicash, if you're claiming for treatment, and only with your knowledge as part of that process
-
Other healthcare professionals, such as your GP, if we believe a referral is needed, and generally only with your consent unless there's a safeguarding or legal reason to do so
-
Service providers who support our business operations (for example, our booking or payment systems), who only process data on our instructions
-
Regulatory bodies, such as the GCC or UCA, if legally required
How Long We Keep Your Information
We retain clinical records in line with professional guidance for chiropractors, generally for at least eight years after your last treatment for adults. For patients under 18, records are usually kept until their 25th birthday (or 26th, if they were 17 at their last treatment). I'd recommend confirming exact retention periods with the UCA or your insurer, as these can be updated by professional guidance.
Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
-
Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
-
Ask us to correct inaccurate information
-
Ask us to delete your information, though this may be limited by our legal obligation to retain clinical records for a set period
-
Object to or restrict certain types of processing
-
Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe your data hasn't been handled properly
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details above.
Keeping Your Information Secure
We take appropriate steps to keep your information secure, including restricting access to your records, using secure systems for storing electronic data, and keeping physical records, if any, in a locked, secure location.
